Pawth ("we", "our", "us") operates the Pawth mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

• Email address (required for account creation)
• Password (encrypted, never stored in plain text)

Dog Profile Information

• Dog's name, breed, and personality traits
• This information is provided voluntarily during onboarding

Game Activity (Stored Locally on Your Device)

• Mission completion history, XP, level, streak data
• Achievement progress, coins, and streak freezes
• Notification preferences

This data is stored on your device using local storage and is not transmitted to our servers unless you use the Community features.

Location Data

• GPS coordinates during active Sniffari walk sessions only
• Location data is stored locally on your device and is never uploaded to our servers
• Location access requires your explicit permission and can be revoked at any time

Community Content

• Posts, comments, likes, and photos you share on the Social Board
• Follow relationships with other users
• Reports and block actions for moderation purposes

Leaderboard Data

• Your dog's name, breed, level, XP, and streak are synced to enable the community leaderboard

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account
• To personalise your experience with your dog's profile
• To provide AI-powered advice through our AI Advisor feature
• To enable social features (posts, comments, leaderboards)
• To track your progress and maintain game state
• To send you local notifications (only if you opt in)

3. AI Advisor

The AI Advisor feature uses OpenAI's language model to generate responses. When you use this feature, your message, dog's name, breed, personality traits, and game progress are sent to OpenAI's servers to generate a response. OpenAI's privacy policy governs the handling of this data. The AI Advisor provides general guidance only and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Authentication and cloud database for community features
• OpenAI — AI-powered advice generation

These services have their own privacy policies governing data they process on our behalf.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your core game data is stored locally on your device. Community data (posts, comments, leaderboard stats) is stored securely in Supabase's cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. Images uploaded to the Social Board are stored in encrypted cloud storage.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share data with the third-party service providers listed above, and solely for the purpose of operating the app.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data (via Edit Profile)
• Delete your account and all associated data (via Settings)
• Opt out of notifications at any time
• Revoke location permissions through your device settings

8. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account from the Settings screen. This removes your authentication credentials, profile data, community posts, and all cloud-stored data. Local data on your device is also cleared. This action is irreversible.

9. Children's Privacy

Pawth is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
